At least once a week and depending on the unpredictable nature of the Scottish weather, I try to get out on a landscape photowalk.
Edinburgh is a rich source of inspiration and opportunity, whatever time of year it happens to be.
Today, the thin winter light and the fast-changing clouds were ideal conditions for a trip to South Queensferry, where the wide angle lens comes into its own, capturing the surface texture of the sea and the patterns in the skies.
For added visual interest, the iconic Forth Bridge is visible from many angles in this area, providing a suitably balanced focal point for the horizon.
More shots from this walk will likely appear in a photo feature on Edinburgh Spotlight next week.
